Happy Friday, Cabarrus County Schools families!

It's been a great summer. We can't wait to see our traditional school students back on Monday and our Early College students on Wednesday. Here's this week's final summer edition of The Friday Five.

#1 Back-to-School last-minute checklist

Get your year started right. Here's a last-minute checklist to prepare you for Day 1.
  • TRANSPORTATION: As we begin the new school year, the Transportation Department would like to share some important reminders to help ensure a smooth start for all bus riders and families. Please keep in mind your bus may arrive up to 10 minutes early for pick up and drop off.  If your student has not received a bus pass and does not appear in the Edulog Parent Portal, please contact your school as soon as possible to request transportation. During the first few weeks of school, there may be some delays as we make adjustments to routes. We continue to face a bus driver shortage, with 48 double runs currently in place. This means some buses will transport one group of students before returning to pick up a second group, which can lead to delays. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges. Our goal remains the same, to transport every student safely, reliably, and as close to schedule as possible. Thank you for your support in helping us provide safe transportation for our students.

  • SCHOOL NUTRITION: If you plan to take advantage of our online payment system, please make sure money has been added to your child's meal account at linqconnect.com. There is a convenience fee for online payments. As always, you may also with pay with cash or check at the cafeteria to avoid any added fees.

  • TECHNOLOGY: To continue supporting access to high-quality digital tools, devices, and instructional technology for all students, we have increased our annual technology fee from $20 to $30. This adjustment helps cover the rising costs of maintaining and upgrading equipment, software, and network services that are essential for teaching and learning. We appreciate your continued support in providing students with the resources they need to succeed in a digital world.

#2 New for 2025: Weigh-in Wednesdays

Two questions. Two minutes. Stronger community.

Starting Wednesday, August 13th, Cabarrus County Schools will launch Weigh-In Wednesday—a quick and easy way for you to share your feedback with us each week. On Wednesday mornings, we’ll post a two-question survey in your ParentSquare feed that takes less than two minutes to complete. Your input will help us make informed decisions that better support our students, staff, and schools, and give our school community a chance to provide valuable feedback throughout the year rather than an all-at-once approach at the end of the year.

There will be no notifications with these posts. Look for them in your feed starting with the first Weigh-In Wednesday on August 13th—because your voice helps build a stronger school community and we value your input.

You must have a registered ParentSquare account to complete the form. For ParentSquare help, you may visit www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/parentsquare or email support@parentsquare.com for immediate help with your account.

Infinite Campus is here!

Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, Cabarrus County Schools has transitioned from Powerschool to a new student information system, Infinite Campus. The new NC Student Information System provides additional features to help you monitor your child’s educational progress and a mobile-friendly experience that makes it easier to see everything on the go. This system will replace PowerSchool as your one-stop-shop for grades and assignment monitoring, attendance monitoring, tracking graduation progress, and updating contact information.

In advance of next week's Open House events, it is time to claim your Infinite Campus parent portal account. Please note that once your account is activated, you will not be able to see your child's class schedules. You will get additional communication once those schedules are available.

For complete instructions on accessing your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account, please click below:

For questions or to update your contact information in the Student Information System, please contact your child's school.
